Michael Karena only needed one official visit to decide where he wanted to play this coming fall. "Michael has decided to attend Wright State University next season. Michael really enjoyed his visit to Wright State" said South Plains College Assistant Coach Hank Plona.
Karena, a post player, hails originally from Christchurch, New Zealand. He will have two seasons to play at Wright State. "Coach Donlon and his staff made Michael a major priority throughout the year and he couldn't be more excited to try and help them win the Horizon League" said Plona.

Lamar State-Port Arthur combo forward Jamal Shabazz has signed with Samford University for next season according to Seahawks Head Coach Lance Madison.
Shabazz, a Pflugerville, TX resident, had interest from CS Fullerton, Northwestern State and Sam Houston State according to Seahawks assistant coach Chad Kish before deciding on Samford
University.
Shabazz averaged 13.4 ppg and 6.4 rebounds this season for the 25-7 Seahawks.
