Long commits to Valley school

Southeastern Illinois College plays in Region 24 and the GRAC Conference. The Falcons journeyed this past March to the NJCAA National Tourney in Hutchinson, KS under the direction of head coach Todd Franklin. One Falcons player decided to end his recruitment today with a commitment to a Missouri Valley Conference School.
Troy Long, a 6-foot-0 (165) combo guard, will take his game over to Southern Illinois University next season to play for head coach Chris Lowery of the Salukis. The Falcons finished the season at 24-10. Long averaged 11.8 ppg and 2.3 assists this season for the Falcons.

"I think Troy has the ability to be a leader. I think guys listen to him," said Franklin to The Southern newspaper.
Long was an all-region and all-conference performer for the Falcons this season.
The Cincinnati,OH native ran into Howard College in the first round of NJCAA National Tourney last month. The Falcons fell to the Hawks and turned around and finished in 8th place this season at Hutch. JucoJunction will keep an eye on the rest of the Falcons players as they set up visits for this spring.
