Looking for a return trip

The Magnolia State of Mississippi was claimed last season by the East Mississippi Community College Lions last season. JucoJunction saw the Lions this past weekend in Marietta, Ga. at Kenn Littlefield's JUCO Jamboree. The Lions made a trip to the NJCAA National Tourney in Hutchinson, Kan. last March and finished the season at 25-5.

The Lions have added a transfer in Colin Borchert to the roster this season. Borchert enrolled at East Mississippi Community College back in January 2011 after starting his college career at Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz.
Lions assistant coach Billy Begley formed JucoJunction that Borchert has received interest from UAB, Baylor, Cincinnati, Fresno State, Gonzaga and Memphis this fall. Borchert played this past summer at Jerry Mullen's Top 100 in St Charles, Mo. at Lindenwood University.
Millaun Brown returns to the team after averaging 6.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last season for the Lions. The undersized post is receiving interest from Mississippi Valley State and Stephen F Austin this fall according to Begley.
Jalen Houston was a freshman that really made a strong impression on JucoJunction this weekend. The lefthanded combo guard from Tuscaloosa, Ala. played high school ball at Hillcrest High School.
"Jalen is a great penetrator - slasher who can really see the floor with his uncanny court vision," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
