The 2014 JUCO All-American guard chose the Razorbacks over other reported offers from Ole Miss, Memphis, Mississippi State and UMASS. He also received recent interest from Kentucky, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Alabama.
Macon, who still has another season remaining at Holmes C.C., was named an All-American this past season when he averaged 23 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He shot 46.5 percent from the floor, 36.9 percent from three, and 88.5 percent at the free throw line.
The Little Rock native is Arkansas' first verbal commitment for the Class of 2016.
The Razorbacks are also heavily involved for other top 2016 prospects, including Malik Monk, De'Ron Davis, Tyler Cook, Terrance Ferguson, Mitchell Smith and others.
Cook, a four-star power forward out of St. Louis (Mo.), visited the Hogs on Saturday.
