Major D-I Programs Finding Hurt

Carlos Hurt might not have become eligible until the start of the second semester, but it didn't take long for some major Division I programs to find the talented southpaw scoring lead guard from Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, Ill.
Hurt, a 6-2 guard who spent his freshman year at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, averages 17 points per game for Mark Nelson's Warrior program.

JUCO Junction checked in with Nelson recently, and he told us that Oklahoma, Georgia State, Auburn and Alabama are among the programs involved with Hurt this winter.
No one has ever questioned Hurt's offensive talents. The question seems to be whether or not he can direct the attack from the point guard slot at the major Division I level.
JUCO Junction caught Hurt back in October at the Vincennes Jamboree, where he once again displayed a penchant for scoring at the expense of distributing the basketball.
Nelson said that Hurt will need summer school to graduate, and you can count on JUCO Junction to keep you posted on Carlos and other top 2003 JUCO recruiting targets. Stay tuned!
