"Jamal Williams has committed to Texas Tech University," said Lake Land College head coach Cedric Brown. Williams a guard from Brooklyn, NY is currently in his second season with the Lakers in Mattoon, Ill. and Region 24 play.

Williams prepped out of high school at Stevens Prep in Raleigh, NC before landing with the Lakers. "Jamal is an impact guard that has skills and athletic ability to play at the highest level of college basketball. His competitive nature and tremendous work ethic will make the Red Raiders very competitive," said Brown.
Williams averaged eight points and 3.4 assists per game last season for the Lakers. Williams played this past summer at Mullen's Top 100 JUCO Camp in St Charles, Mo.
Williams will now join Daylen Robinson and Rodrigo Silva next season in the Red Raiders recruiting class.
