Manatees march to state tourney

State College of Florida defeated St Petersburg College yesterday 95-73 to clinch a berth in the state tourney starting next week. The Manatees recently had to forfeit wins and it cost the league title and the automatic berth.
The Manatees under first year head coach Brock Erickson completed the season at 25-7 on the floor but now have a 7-25 heading into the state tourney versus the College of Central Florida (27-3).
Freshman Obinna Oleka led the way with 22 points and 13 rebounds in the victory last night. Sophomore Savad Garner added 20 points and 10 rebounds, Iona signee Isaiah Williams added 19 points and 9 rebounds. Freshman point guard Michael Sanchez added 16 points and 10 assists.
Anders Haas is the State College of Florida who was declared ineligible by the NJCAA. Haas was averaging 17 points per game this season before his dismissal. Haas is from Denmark.
