Manier Taking Weekend Trip

Malcolm Manier, the 6-2 scorer deluxe from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College in Cincinnati, Ohio, is taking his first official visit this weekend.
Cincy State Asst. Coach Joe Fowler told JUCO Junction earlier this week that Manier is visiting Maryland-Baltimore County.

Manier, who earned third team NJCAA All-American honors this season, averaged 20.4 points per game and shot 38 percent beyond the arc in 2002-2003.
The well built 195 pound wing had been scheduled to visit both Colorado and Colorado State earlier this spring, but those visits fell through, according to Fowler. Fordham and Wisconsin-Milwaukee also sniffed, but the Rams changed coaching staffs and the Panthers signed another JC guard this spring.
Manier is taking a biology and computer science course this summer to finish up his degree requirements.
"As long as he takes care of things in the classroom, he should be eligible," Fowler noted.
JUCO Junction had the chance to evaluate Manier last October at the Vincennes JUCO Jamboree. We were impressed with his strength, athleticism, and scoring ability from many different areas on the floor.
"Malcolm's best attribute is his scoring ability," Fowler said. "He's a tremendous three point shooter, and he can pull up off the dribble and hit the jumper in the lane."
"He needs to improve defensively," Fowler continued. "He's OK on the ball and quick enough to stay in front of people, but he struggles sometimes with help side."
JUCO Junction will keep you posted on Manier's recruitment until it reaches a conclusion sometime this spring or summer. Stay tuned!
