Marcus Van headed to Central Michigan

Marcus Van, (SO) 6-foot-7 from Chicago, IL, will be going off to Central Michigan University this fall.

Van played his college ball at Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, IL the past two seasons.

"Marcus is a relentless rebounder and a physical post player. He has a great knack for scoring the ball," said assistant coach John Craig.

The Chicago Curie High School product averaged 9.3 ppg and 7.2 reboounds this season for the Warriors. Van also received interest from Eastern Illinois and Wyoming before deciding on being a Chippewa for next season. Marcus will join up with former AAU teammate Nate Minnoy (Schoolcraft) at Central Michigan. Van and Minnoy played on the Illinois Fire AAU team.
