Marquette looks to the juco ranks

The Marquette University Golden Eagles will be looking to reload next season and decided to hit the junior college ranks for one more player for next year's recruiting class. Darius Johnson-Odom, a (FR) 6-foot-2 guard from Raleigh, NC, is headed to the Big East Conference next season according to Hutchinson Community College assistant coach Ryan Freeburg. Johnson averaged 21.6 ppg , 5.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists this past season for the Blue Dragons. Johnson-Odom was named freshman of the year in the Jayhawk West Conference.
Darius scored a school record at the Jayhawk Shootout back on December 5, 2008 versus Coffeyville with 46 points. Johnson-Odom shot 38.8% (69-178) from three point range this past season. Darius prepped at Wakefield High School in Raleigh,NC before heading off to the Patterson School in Lenoir,NC for a postgraduate year. Johnson-Odom will join Dwight Buycks from Indian Hills in Milwaukee next season. The Blue Dragons finished the year at (20-12) this past season.
