Marshalltown loaded with D-1 talent

It wasn't a bad week for Marshalltown, IA coach Denny Aye. His team beat Indian Hills on the road and then returned home to top Moberly and Southeastern Iowa. MCC is now 21-and-5 on the year.
It's pretty easy to see why.

"We've got ten guys that all play and we've got four or five that were placed here by Division One schools," Aye said. "We're getting quite a bit of interest and justifiably so. Not only can they play, but they're all good kids."
Here's a quick rundown on the major prospects at Marshalltown.
Arvydas Vaitiekus: Vaitiekus is a 6-foot-11 sophomore who has signed early at Utah State. "Arvydas is coming on very well both defensively and rebounding-wise," Aye said.
Brandon Barber: Barber is a 6-foot-8 sophomore from Florida who actually comes off the bench for MCC. At this point, Aye says he is wide open in his recruitment.
Kyle LaMonte: LaMonte is the MCC point guard who Aye says has been playing very well this season. "Division One interest is picking up on him," said the coach. "He's wide, wide open at this point."
Andrew Davison: Davison is just a freshman, but he has a shot to graduate this year and have three years of remaining eligibility. Aye said Davison will wait and see what his offers are before he makes any decision about next year.
Jiri Hubalek: Hubalek, a freshman, was placed at MCC by Chattanooga. He has been coming off the bench at 6-foot-11.
Amir Alvarado: Alvarado, a 6-foot-5 starter for Aye, was placed by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Aye says he has played extremely well for MCC so far this season.
Chris Timms: Timms was an Iowa State placement this year. However, "he's just a freshman so he could be open in his recruiting," Aye said.
Devin Aye and Marcus Nellems are other sophomores whom the coach says are considered wide open at this point.
Marshalltown hopes to play well into the post-season. After that, it appears the team will have plenty of recruiting business to keep busy.
