Martinis Visit a Mere Formality

Southern Utah may be hosting Dixie State College's Mike Hall for a visit this week, but a player who is going for a trip to the Mid-Continent program this weekend has already committed to the Thunderbird program.
Sheridan Head Coach Brian Marso told JUCO Junction that Martini has committed to Southern Utah. He will visit the school this weekend from Apr. 11-13. He expects to ink with the Thunderbirds sometime during the late signing period, which commences on Wednesday, April 16.

"He's a shooter and a competitor who plays his tail off," Marso said. "Not only does he shoot it well, but he defends, and is strong with the basketball. He doesn't make mistakes."
A Sheridan, Wyo. native, Martini also saw interest this winter from Montana. He averaged 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game for Sheridan, starting 27 of 30 games.
The Generals enjoyed unprecedented success in 2002-2003, finishing 30-2 before being upset at the Region IX Tournament in Norfolk, Neb., last month.
