Fresno State University had to go all the way across the country to land the point guard they wanted for next season. Yesterday the Bulldogs came away with a signed scholarship from a Maryland point guard. Steven Shepp, (SO) 6-foot-1 (175) from Woodbridge, VA, played at Allegany College in Cumberland, MD this past season and will have three years to play for Fresno State starting this fall after head coach Mike Baker confirmed the signing of Shepp to the Bulldogs to JucoJunction today.

Shepp, a point guard, averaged 7.4 ppg, 5.8 assists and 2.4 steals this season for Allegany College. Shepp really got noticed when Allegany got back to Hutchinson and the National Tourney for the first time since legendary coach Bob Kirk retired this season.
Shepp received interest from Idaho State, Longwood and several others before deciding on the Bulldogs.
