McDonald: Increased Role at SCC in 03--04

Marvett McDonald, a 6-1, 175 pound shooting/combo guard from Memphis, Tenn., will take on an expanded role next winter for the defending national champion Southeastern (IA) Blackhawks.
McDonald was a key reserve for SCC in 2003-2004, averaging 8.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest playing behind NJCAA All-American Filiberto Rivera. He knocked down 75 three pointers as a freshman, converting those at a robust 41 percent clip.

"He's quick, athletic and has has a great handle," Southeastern Head Coach Joe O'Brien told JUCO Junction. "He's one of our captains next season, and we're expecting great things from Marvett."
O'Brien said he has fielded early interest from McNeese State and Alabama-Birmingham regarding McDonald.
On top of being a solid Division I basketball prospect, McDonald carried a 3.2 GPA as a freshman at SCC.
