McKenzie Should Have Instant Impact @ TCC

He might have fallen off the basketball radar screen in 2002-2003, but Tallahassee Community College's Chad McKenzie should be one of the top freshmen in the JC hoop ranks this winter.
Last we saw McKenzie, he was dominating the compeition at the strong Charlie Weber Invitational in Maryland two years ago. He signed with TCC out of high school in South Carolina, but didn't play last year after suffering an early injury.

TCC Asst. Coach Tony Atkins told JUCO Junction that McKenzie already being hit hard by the big boys. Programs like Clemson, Georgia, Cincinnati, Louisiana State and Florida State have all expressed early interest in McKenzie.
A 6-6, 210 pound small forward/swingman, McKenzie's all-around game makes him a difficult player to handle for opposing defenses.
"He's extremely versatile," Atkins said. "He can beat you anywhere on the floor and has a high IQ for the game."
McKenzie was a part-time student last year at Tallahassee, so his clock didn't officially start until this fall when he enrolled as a full-time student at TCC.
We plan on catching McKenzie at one of the early pre-conference events this fall/winter, so we'll keep you abreast of his exploits as the season gets under way in less than two months.
