"He's a very multi-demensional lefty that's tougher than shoe leather," said assistant coach Chad Kish.
Fowler spent his freshman year at Bossier-Parish CC (LA). John is at 13.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 58% from the floor this season.
"He can really score at the basket at will," Kish added.
Austin Peay, Arkansas State, UC-Santa Barbara and Texas Pan American are calling on Fowler.
Ricky Claitt, (SO) 6 foot 2 (175) from Orlando, FL. Ricky is an academic qualifier out of Edgewater HS where he was teammates with former Memphis player Darius Washington.
"Claitt is a combo guard that's a great leader and floor general. Ricky is really unselfish," Kish said.
Florida International, Montana State and SE Missouri State have shown interest. Ricky is at 7.4 points and five assists on the season.
Tony Webb, (SO) 6 foot 2 (195) from Poplar Bluff, MO. The fourth year wing player will be a clock kid coming out after this season. Webb received All American
honors last year for the Cardinals.
"Tony has a great frame and he can guard 1-3 positions on the floor," Kish commented.
Webb played three games at Three Rivers CC (MO) back in 2003-2004. He sat out in 2004-2005 and has played the last two seasons at Mineral Area College. Webb is
averaging 9.2 points per game this season after averaging 12.1 last year. He will have to go the D2-NAIA route
Eric Stuckey, (SO) 6 foot 6 (230) from West Memphis, AR.
"Stuckey is an undersized 5 man that's very springy," Kish said. "Eric has improved his jumper and does finish around the basket nicely."
Stuckey attended prep school very briefly out of high school before landing at
Mineral Area. Stuckey is at 11.7 points and 7.7 rebounds this season. Eric will need summer school to graduate.
Willie Hassell (SO) 5 foot 9 (175) from Portageville,MO.
"Wille has a big-time vert; 48 inches," Kish said. "He's a freak athlete with NBA skills."
Hassell is a great on the ball defender. Tennessee-Martin, Montana State, SE Missouri State and Henderson State (AR) have called on Hassell. Hassell is at 10.6 points per game clip.
