Monroe-Bronx has four to watch

Monroe Community College-Bronx has some tough competition every season. With teams like Globe Tech and Allegany (MD), region titles aren't handed out easily. But Monroe has some solid talent that should give it a shot this season.
Point guard Rich Jackson will run the sow. He averaged 12 points, five assists and four rebounds as a freshman, while making the all-region team.

"Rich is a good kid, lots of personality," said Monroe assistant Steve Hobbs. "He is very comfortable playing in big games--a gamer! I really think he is a solid mid-major recruit. He could play some two guard too."
Stony Brook (Offer) , Binghamton, St. Francis (NY) (Offer) and St. Peter's are recruiting him heavily. Boise State, Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure are interested as well, but Jackson does not have any visits set.
Alongside Jackson in the backcourt is 6-foot-2 shooting guard Dashaun Williams. The Chicago native averaged 12 points and four rebounds as a freshman. He has interest from UAB, Houston, Boise State, UCSB and Wisconsin-Green Bay.
"Again, very comfortable in big games," Hobbs stated. "Great in the weight room! Could also, play some point guard at the next level."
Trevor Franklin mans the three for Monroe. He averaged 10 points and four boards as a freshman and is being courted by Boise State and Central Connecticut.
"He needs to get stronger and improve range, but he does have a knack for scoring the ball," Hobbs said. "He would be good in an up-tempo style. Because he doesn't really have a position, I think he would be a good low major recruit."
Finally, Herman Wrice will play the power forward. The Philadelphia native redshirted his first year at Midland. Long Island, Binghamton, St. Peter's and Stony Brook will be watching.
