Morgan Headed Toward Spring Decision

Iowa State transfer Ricky Morgan could be headed for a spring recruiting decision.
A strong 6-0 point guard from Pontiac, Mich., Morgan is hoping for a strong sophomore season at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Mich., to help boost his stock.

Schoolcraft Head Coach Carlos Briggs told JUCO Junction that UC-Santa Barbara, UC-Riverside, Detroit and Buffalo have all expressed interest in Morgan this fall.
Many college coaches saw Morgan and his Ocelot teammates this past summer at a pair of high profile events -- the JC Hoop Challenge in Indianapolis and the Mullen JUCO Showcase in Tulsa.
"I thought that Ricky played well in Tulsa," Briggs said. "For whatever reason, he struggled at times in Indianapolis."
Perhaps it was a bit of rust that plagued Morgan in Indy, as he last played competitive ball in 2001-2002 at Iowa State. Even though he sat out last season, Briggs said that Morgan is in excellent shape academically.
JUCO Junction will stay on the case with Morgan, and we plan on seeing Schoolcraft early in the 2003-2004 season. Stay tuned!
