Motlow State forward has major interest

Two years ago, De'Andre Bryant was a heavily recruited high school safety. Bryant signed with Arkansas and spent his freshman year on the Razorback football team. However, Bryant left Fayetteville to go to Motlow State (TN) Community College and pursue a future in college hoops. The detour is working.
"Well, in the last couple weeks we have had Missouri, Ole Miss and Louisiana Tech in here," said MSCC head coach Bobby Steinburg. "Florida State has been recruiting him for a long time, George Mason, Murray State. There are a bunch of them."

Bryant is a 6-foot-6 small forward who will offer someone a ton of versatility.
"He has unbelievable footwork," Steinburg said. "He is extremely quick defensively. He can guard a guard at 6-6."
Bryant's 7-foot-1 wingspan makes him a very active defensive player. He led the Bucks with an incredible 3.6 steals a game this season.
"He has got great hands," Steinburg said. "He's got a knack for getting has hands on the basketball."
Defense is Bryant's calling card--as it was on the football field--but he's got a developing offensive game as well. As a sophomore, he led Motlow State in scoring at 11.8 points per game, while grabbing 7.7 rebounds and dishing out 2.2 assists.
"He just needs to fine tune some of the little things," Steinburg said. "Athletically and conditioning-wise, it is all there. He just needs to fine tune everything and work on his focus, channel his energy."
Steinburg said he and Bryant are trying to work through the recruiting process quickly. The Atlanta native has an official visit scheduled to Ole Miss and then a mid-week trip to Louisiana Tech.
"There are a lot of people scrambling, coming in and trying to get something worked out," Steinburg said. "We are trying to weed some out and get things figured out."
