The Wranglers of Odessa College will play two solid opponents this coming weekend in Collin County Community College and State Fair Community College out of Sedalia, Mo. Derrick Barden had a great freshman season for the Wranglers as he averaged 16.4 ppg and 12.1 rebounds. The Detroit, Mich. native is off to even a better start this fall for the OC.

Barden led the nation in rebounding last season and was runner up player of the year in West Texas Region for the Wranglers. This season Barden is averaging 27.7 points and 12.5 rebounds after six games while hitting on 66 percent of his shots from the floor.
"Derrick is a relentless worker on the floor and it shows in his numbers every night he plays. Derrick sure brings it to the table every minute he plays the game," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
Barden is ranked No. 20 in the 2012 JucoJunction 150.
