Mott guard signs with Cardinals

Mott Community College finished the season with a school win record of 35-3 and their second National Championship in the past four years - 2003 and 2007. Today, Mott prospect Rob Giles inked a national letter of intent with Ball State.
"We are very excited that Rob has signed with Ball State," said Mott coach Steve Schmidt. "I think it is a great fit for everyone involved. Rob is extremely athletic and skilled. He has unlimited range with a quick release. His best basketball is still in front of him."

Giles, a 6-foot-4 guard from Detriot, averaged eight points per game last season.
"Don't be misled by the numbers," Schmidt said. "In our system we play eleven player's significant minutes. Our players understand this and would rather sacrifice individual stats for a National Championship."
Rob also was considering Montana, Youngstown State, Tennessee Chattanooga, and Tennessee State.
JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson calls Giles "a real sleeper" for the Cardinals.
