Myers goes in-depth on WVU stop

West Virginia has been involved with Williston (N.D.) Williston State C.C. guard Teyvon Myers since the turn of the New Year but the talented junior college guard got his first up-close look at the Mountaineers during his official visit this weekend.
Myers, 6-foot-3, has been attracting heavy attention as of late with West Virginia, Louisville, Arizona State and several other showing strong interest but this past weekend was his first official visit and it led to some encouraging news for the junior college scorer.

"They offered me this weekend," he said.
It was news that excited Myers in large part because he was so impressed with his weekend stop in Morgantown because of the cohesiveness of Bob Huggins' team.
"I really liked West Virginia. It was a great place to be and I liked how the team was a family and it's obvious Bob Huggins really cares about his players," he said.
Never was that more evident than before the Oklahoma State game Saturday when the West Virginia players took the floor for warmups at 11:30 a.m. for an early shoot around to get a head start on their preparation for the Cowboys.
And that is important for Myers as he wants to spend extra time looking at how the current team interacts with each other as opposed to the campus and facilities.
"It was the togetherness. The people were really cool and down to Earth," he said. "It shows they want to win and they show good chemistry."
Myers has been a priority of the Mountaineers since December as the coaching staff has made visits to see him multiple times. During his on-campus visit, the focus was on how he could see the floor early and make an impact at the one or the two for the Mountaineers.
"They told me they want to work me to my full extend and I'm a workaholic. Bob Huggins said that he would be able to push me to be the best I can be," he said.
Fellow Brooklyn native Tarik Phillip, who coincidentally also played junior college ball, hosted Myers and the combo guard simply said that he felt like he was a big brother during his time on campus and the fact that the two had a prior relationship.
Even with a positive trip, Myers entered the visit knowing that he wanted to see other places before making a decision on his recruitment and he plans to officially visit both Louisville and Arizona State later this month.
Averaging 25-points per game at Williston State, Myers has seen his recruitment explode and while it's still a shock for him at times he always believed that by putting in hard work he could achieve his goals.
He has no timeline in his recruitment but plans to sign during the late period and will have two years remaining at the college level. Myers wants to find a school that can help him achieve his goals and take his game to the next level.
"I can't rush into things. It's just going to be when I feel comfortable and after I take the rest of my visits," he said.
