Names to watch in 2007

The Class of 2006 is in the books for the vast majority of prospects. We now take a look at a few guys to watch in 2007. This is in no way a prediction of the class's top players, just a look at a few names we've come across that could be making headlines in recruiting in the next 12 months. JucoJunction will be attempting to contact these recruits over the next few weeks.
Antoine Brown: The Philadelphia native played at Independence (KS) last season. He averaged ten points a game and shot 47.4% from the three-point line in 24 games. Brown averaged nearly four assists and 3.6 rebounds per night as well. Out of high school, he was heavily considering Georgia and St. Joseph's.

Ryan McCoy: A Tulsa signee out of high school, McCoy played for a star-studded UA-Fort Smith team a season ago. Though the defending national champ will lose some serious talent, McCoy hopes he can help cushion the blow. As a high school senior, McCoy averaged about 20 points and 8 assists per game.
Jamarcus Ellis: The Texas A&M signee out of high school is now playing at Chipola. There was brief thought he would be part of the 2006 class, but will spend one more year at the national power. Any number of high profile schools will be after him.
DeAndre Thomas: Thomas is a teammate of Ellis at Chipola. A few months back, coach Greg Heiar told us he expected Thomas to be the most heavily recruited junior college big man in the nation. A Missouri signee out of high school, Thomas will have all kinds of attention this year, beginning in July.
Jaray Matthews: Out of high school in Texas, Matthews had offers from TCU and Oklahoma State, along with other Big 12 interest. Though he scored just four points a game as a freshman at Dodge City, the talent is there for the 6-foot-4 Matthews and he should attract some attention.
There will be all kinds of names emerge over the summer and JucoJunction will start tracking the Class of 2007 seriously in the coming weeks.
