NAU signs two

Northern Arizona University looked to fill some needs for next season by dipping into the junior college ranks. The Lumberjacks play in the Big Sky Conference. JucoJunction found out recently that the Lumberjacks decided to add a point guard and a forward to help their cause for next season.

Julian Olubuyi, (SO) 5-foot-9 from Northwest College in Powell, WY, and Isaiah Jackson, (SO) 6-foot-6 from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, will be added to the Lumberjacks roster for next season after signing recently.

Olubuyi, a scoring point guard, averaged 14.3 ppg for the Trappers this season while gathering first team all-conference and all-region honors. Julian played his high school basketball in Houston, TX. He will have two years to play for the Lumberjacks in the Big Sky Conference.

Jackson started his college career at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before transferring to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College last fall. Isaiah averaged 12.5 ppg this past season for his National Tourney bound Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College club. Jackson now joins teammate Justin Ray who signed with Texas Southern University in finding a Division One school for next season.
