NC Central signs juco threesome

North Carolina Central University is under new Head Coach Levelle Moton this coming season. Moton is a former player for the Eagles. North Carolina Central University, located in Durham, NC, has added two junior college players for this season and one for the 2010-2011 class. Terrance Granger, 6-foot-9 from Allegany College in Cumberland, MD, and Dwayne Sims from Clinton Junior college will suit up for the Eagles this coming season. Granger, a Richmond, VA, native played in the NJCAA National Tourney this past season for the Trojans. The Trojans finished 29-7 this season under Head Coach Mike Baker. Granger averaged 9.4 ppg and 5.4 rebounds this season for the Trojans.

Sims, 6-foot-6 (185) from Dayton, OH, played for Golden Bears of Clinton Junior College in Rock Hill, SC. Sims averaged 10 ppg and 6.8 rebounds for then Head Coach Donald Payton. Payton recently moved on to a Division II Assistant coaching position. Sims will now join fellow Golden Bears teammate CJ Wilkerson next season on Eagles squad.
David Best, 6-foot-8 (240) from nearby Raleigh, NC, will sit out this season for the Eagles and play in 2010-2011. Best, a power forward, will have three years to play for the Eagles. Best played this past season at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC. Sea Devils Head Coach Ryan Mantlo confirmed Best moving on to North Carolina Central University for next season. Best led the Sea Devils to the NJCAA National Tourney this past season in Hutchinson,KS. Best averaged 14.1 ppg, 9 rebounds and shot 57% (203-356) from the floor.
