New Mexico guard finds new home

New Mexico Junior College Head coach Jimmy Voight contacted JucoJunction today. Coach Voight passed along that starting point guard Cory Davis has committed to Southern Utah for next season.
Davis, (SO) 5-foot-11 (180) from Salem, OR, averaged 13.5 ppg and 4 assists this season for NMJC. Cory played his freshman season at San Jacinto (TX) where he averaged 5.6 ppg and 3 assists. Cory Davis, an academic qualifier coming out of high school, had originally signed with Montana State when then Southern Utah assistant coach Johnny Brown was with the Bobcats.
Davis received interest from UC-Riverside, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Louisiana Monroe this spring according to coach Voight.
