North Dakota forward still has lots of options

Things have changed just about weekly for North Dakota State College of Science forward Andre Smith. But things are very near wrapping up now.
"I think he will make a decision before the end of the signing period," said head coach Craig Irwin. "He's got quite a few things going on."

First and foremost on that list is a visit to Idaho this weekend.
"This will only be his third visit, so he's got two more, and he may not use all of them," Irwin said. "He may only take this one and make his decision. But he's probably going to take at least one more I think."
Any number of schools could be in line for that next trip. North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Boise State and Louisiana-Monroe have all offered the 6-foot-8 power forward. Irwin said Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marshall have talked about bringing him in for a visit, as has St. Bonaventure.
"I think St. Bonaventure will offer depending on what happens this weekend," said the coach. "They're real close to offering."
Tulsa, Buffalo, and IUPUI are among a handful of programs Irwin said have tried to come in late on Smith.
Whoever does land Smith will get a player who averaged 13.6 points and 9.7 rebounds while starting 33 games and leading the Wildcats to the national junior college tournament.
