North Lake looks to defend title

The North Lake College Blazers are going back to Delhi, NY this week to try and repeat as the NJCAA D3 National Champs. North Lake defeated Gloucester County (NJ) last season 78-65 to win it all. The Blazers are ready to defend their title at (20-11) this season. Coach McGraw talked to JucoJunction today about his players' recruitment.
Brandon Brooks: (SO) 6-foot-2 from Euless, TX. The starting point guard is extremely athletic and very coachable.

"Brooks, an All-Region performer this season, can hit the midrange jumper and is shooting 40% from three point range," said McGraw.
Brandon is getting 13.4 ppg, 4.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season for the Blazers. Alabama State and Tennessee-Martin are following him this spring.
Tim Nelson: (SO) 6-foot-1 from Houston, TX. Nelson played last season at SW Oregon CC where he averaged 15 ppg.
"Tim defends really well for a two guard" said McGraw.
Nelson is hitting for 15.6 ppg this season while shooting 39.9% (91-228) from three-point range. The All-Region performer is receiving some interest from Prairie View A&M currently.
Duran Brownlow: (SO) 6-foot-2 from Houston, TX. Brownlow is a 2/3 man that can score the ball. Duran played last season at Clarendon College (TX) where he averaged 17 ppg.
"Duran can really score in transition and is shooting 53% from the floor this season," said
McGraw.
Brownlow is getting 15.1 ppg this season with a season high of 29 points.
Mike Mokeski: (SO) 6-foot-9 (215) from Carrollton, TX.
Mokeski is the son of former NBA player Paul Mokeski. Mokeski now coaches in the NBDL with Fort Worth.
"Mike is a good post defender who will be a solid role player at the next level," said McGraw.
Mike redshirted last year at North Lake and played at Abilene Christian back in 2004-2005.
"Mike has made great progress this season and scored 12 points versus Indian Hills this past season" said McGraw.
Mike is averaging 4.4 ppg this season.
Bryan Mokeski: (FR) 7-foot-0 (205) from Carrollton, TX. The five man took classes part time last season at North Lake. Bryan, an academic qualifier, will leave after this season and have 3 years left to play at the next level.
"Bryan must improve on his stamina and weight. He really has good hands and can knockdown that eight-footer," said McGraw.
Bryan is averaging 2.2 ppg this season for the Blazers.
