Northeastern guard has new home

The Plainsmen of Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO saw their season come to an end back in March when they lost to North Platte in the Region Tourney, 85-61. Alexander Garcia-Medoza played two seasons for the Plainsmen and recently decided to end his recruitment and a sign a National Letter of Intent to play basketball next season in the Sun Belt Conference. JucoJunction found out today from Plainsmen head coach Eddie Trenkle where Alexander signed.
Garcia-Medoza, (SO) 6-foot-2 from El Fuente, Mexico, will play at Arkansas-Little Rock next season according to Trenkle. Alexander averaged 11.7 ppg, 4.2 rebounds and 2 assists this past season for the Plainsmen. Garcia-Mendoza now joins teammate AJ Wilson who signed with Murray State earlier this month. Alexander scored 616 career points in 60 games played for Northeastern Junior College over the past two seasons.
Garcia-Mendoza received interest from San Francisco, Utah State and Texas State before deciding on the Trojans of Arkansas-Little Rock. Coach Trenkle's father worked at the University of Arkansas when then player Joe Kleine was on the team. Kleine is now a assistant coach on the Trojans staff. The Trojans have now signed three junior college players for next season plus Garcia-Mendoza.
