Northeastern Oklahoma AM Update

While Redlands C.C. may have stolen the headlines in Region II this year, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M quietly put together a strong season.
Jason Turk's Golden Norse program finished 25-8, won the Bi-State Eastern Division and advanced to the Region II Final in Shawnee, Okla., last month.

NEO had Redlands down double figures in the finale before succumbing to the Cougars in the second half.
A pair of Golden Norse players have already reached decisions this spring.
Chris Riouse, a 6-2, 207 pound shooting guard from Broken Arrow, Okla., has signed with Oral Roberts, Turk announced.
This is the second time around for Riouse and ORU, as he signed with the Golden Eagle program out of high school two years ago.
Riouse was NEO's designated shooter. He shot 44 percent beyond the arc this season.
"He's a big time shooter," Turk said. "He ended up having a great year for us."
Jason Greene, a 5-10, 156 pound point guard from Grand Prairie, Tex., has signed with Division II Central Oklahoma.
Four other NEO sophomores are still going through the recruiting process this spring.
Vernell Davis, a wiry 6-8, 208 pound power forward from Broken Arrow, Okla., has narrowed his focus to a trio of colleges.
Davis has visited Oral Roberts (March 26-28), Texas State (March 29-30) and Tulsa (Apr. 8-9).
"He could make a decision this weekend," Turk said.
Taylor Pratt, a 6-7 run/jump athlete from Tulsa, Okla., is tentatively scheduled to visit Montana State from Apr. 23-25. Evansville and Bowling Green have also shown interest in Pratt this spring, Turk said.
Bamfield Harmon, a 6-1, 175 pound combo guard from The Colony, Tex., is being recruited by Central Missouri State and Tarleton State. Harmon started out last year as a freshman at the University of Rhode Island.
"He struggled with some injuries, but Bam had a decent year for us," Turk said.
Division II programs are closely monitoring 6-6 combo forward Lance Perique of New Orleans, La.
"People will have to wait and see where he is after this semester," Turk said. "He have all kinds of opportunities, but academics will decide if he can go D-I or D-II."
Sam Houston State is among the Division I programs that have kept an eye on Perique all year long. A slew of Division IIs are calling and will be in the thick of it should Perique not graduate.
JUCO Junction will keep you posted on the NEO sophs as they reach decisions this spring. Stay tuned!
