Offers rolling in to Barton County

The Barton County Community College Cougars finished 27-7 and ended their season one game shy of the national tournament. JucoJunction had a chance to touch base with assistant coach Tim Perry on the Cougar sophomores.
Omar Johnson: 5-foot-7 (145) from Philadelphia. Omar transferred in from UT-Chattanooga.

"I can't say enough good things about him," Perry said. "Omar led us to a 27-7 record and in the region tournament hit back-to-back game winners to put us in the finals."
The numbers are impressive for the former Philly Lutheran point guard. Johnson is shooting 52% (208-400) from the floor, and averaged 17.3 points and six assists a game.
"He was first-team all-Jayhawk West and first team all-region VI," Perry said. "We are hopeful of a couple all-American nods as well.
Plenty of schools are asking after Johnson. Offers have come from Weber State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UT-San Antonio. Schools such as Central Connecticut State, New Hampshire, Boise State, Loyola-Chicago, Robert Morris, James Madison, LaSalle, Rhode Island, CS-Northridge, Albany, San Francisco and Cleveland state are interested. Johnson does not have any visits scheduled.
"Whomever he chooses gets an impact kid off the plane," Perry said.
Thiago Cordeiro: 6-foot-9 (220) from Brazil.
"The kid has a knack for rebounding and blocking shots," Perry said. "He broke the Region VI career shot blocking record (285) and led the country as well. He's very versatile with good hands and can knock down the 18-footer."
Cordeiro averaged 11.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and four blocks a game. He holds offers from Pacific, Dayton, Rhode Island and UTEP. Last weekend, the big man visited Pacific.
Dayton, Nevada, GW, St. Louis, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Buffalo and Alabama are also recruiting Cordeiro.
Ivan Evans: 6-foot-4 (195) from Philadelphia.
Ivan is averaging 15 points and 9.2 rebounds this season on 54.7% shooting from the floor.
"Ivan gets a lot done on the floor," Perry said. "He can score in and out and is very gifted athletically."
Evans has offers from Niagara and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, but has no visits scheduled. Cal Poly, Loyola-Chicago, Robert Morris, Murray State, Eastern Washington and Georgia Southern are also recruiting Evans.
