Part of that good time: sitting in the recruiting section for the Cane-Gator game.
"The atmosphere was crazy," Hurt said. "It was a good win for them. I'm a college football fan - Miami, they did what they had to do. Florida's a real good team, are ranked. They took care of business."
Hurt spent a lot of time with coach Jim Larranaga on the visit.
"He likes my style, and talking to him I feel like if I was to go to Miami I'd come in and get good minutes," Hurt said. "Coach L is a really good dude. I like him. He develops players."
Hurt said he also spent time with current Canes Tonye Jekiri and Angel Rodriguez.
"They were just telling me that it's a really good place, that I should come there," Hurt said.
This was Hurt's second official visit - he's already gone to Penn State. His next visits are to Wichita State and Indiana, and he expects to announce a final decision in early October.
What kind of chance does UM have at this point?
"They're in the top four obviously, so they have a pretty good chance," Hurt said.
He says he has no frontrunners right now.
What will make the difference in the end?
"I want the best fit, best situation for me, the best feel for the players and coaching staff," he said.
Hurt will arrive in college as a junior. last season he averaged 11.5 points and eight rebounds per game.
Asked to sum up his Hurricane visit, Hurt said, "As a letter grade I'd give the visit an `A.' I loved hanging out with the coaches and the team."
