The Okaloosa-Walton College Raiders had 4 players verbal today to colleges of their choice. JucoJunction touched base with Okaloosa-Walton assistant coach Will Jones on the players' commitments. The Raiders in all have five players this fall making decisions.
Tay Waller and Johnny Lett will remain teammates next season and head off to Auburn University in the Southeastern Conference. Waller, (SO) 6-foot-2 (180), from Manchester, GA, averaged 18.3 ppg last season playing the off guard position. Waller hit at a 39.5% (117-296) clip from three-point range. Lett, (SO) 6-foot-9
(240), averaged three ppg and 4.2 rebounds last season. Waller also received interest from UAB, Missouri and Kansas while Lett heard from Georgia State, Penn State and New Mexico. Johnny visited Georgia State.
Lashun Watson, (SO) 6-foot-5 (195) from Greenville, GA, will be heading to Mobile, AL next season to play for coach Ronnie Arrow at South Alabama. Watson averaged 9.3 ppg and 4.3 rebounds last season.
"Watson is a very versatile player that can play the 1-3 positions on the floor," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Josh Hunter, (SO) 6-foot-6 (220) from Albany, GA is off to Appalachian State. Hunter received interest from Arkansas Little Rock and Coastal Carolina. Josh visited all three campuses. Hunter averaged 10.5 ppg and 9.2 rebounds last season for the Raiders. The power forward was the 5th Raider this fall to verbal early. Keith Ramsey earlier this week committed to Missouri.
Look for the Raiders to make the Panhandle Conference very deep with talent this season with the likes of Chipola College, Tallahassee Community College, Gulf Coast Community College and Pensacola Junior College.
