Opening day action at Hutch
Tyler Junior College Apaches opened the tourney with a victory over Faulkner State (AL) 79-62. The Apaches were led in scoring by Dale Jones 21 points, Faith Pope chipped 19 points and Dominique Shaw 16 points. Faulkner State was led by Rafael Adams with 16 points.
Vincennes University ripped Cochise College (AZ) 90-60 in the opening round. The Trailblazers were led in scoring by AJ Patty 27 points and Mychal Mulder added 20 points.

The Holmes Community College Bulldogs the #20 seeded team defeated Eastern Florida State 72-68. The Bulldogs were led by freshman sensation Daryl Macon with 29 points.
Hill College beat Gillette College (WY) in a great game 85-83. The Rebels were led in scoring by Tyrell Bellot-Green with 26 points and freshman Jemerrio Jones chipped in 19 points.
Southern Mississippi signee Lorenzo Bonam led the way for Gillette College with 24 points.
Columbia State Community College sneaked by San Jacinto (TX) 76-74. Jamonte Graham led the way for Columbia State Community College 19 points, TJ Dunans 16 points and TJ Cromer added 15 points.
Willie Mangum led the way for the Ravens with 16 points.
Cape Fear Community College pulled a upset over #10 ranked John A Logan 76-66. The Sea Devils were led by Anthony Vanhook with 17 points and Cordea Wilson added 16 points in the victory.
The Volunteers were led in scoring by Martavian Payne and AJ Riley with 14 points apiece.
