Package deal

SU has had numerous conversations with junior college National Championship winning point guard Bryce Jones over the past few months. Both Jones and star teammate Leroy Fludd have told schools that they would prefer to be a package deal.
The Rams have offered the pair and hope to lure Jones and Fludd to campus on official visits. Jones said that both are open to the idea and that CSU is a viable option for them when it comes time to decide on a commitment.

"I know they want me there, me and Truck (Fludd). That's what's going to go down," Jones said of a package deal. "Me and Truck are going to go to the same school. It's a for sure thing and we've spoke(n) about it already."
In 33 games played last winter, the shifty playmaker averaged 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game, while shooting nearly 33 percent from three-point range and 78 percent from the free-throw line.
Jones said that even if he does decide on a commitment soon, he wouldn't sign until the spring signing period.
"I'll probably do it late, to be honest with you, because I'm busy on getting my schoolwork done to make sure I qualify."
The talented point guard said he is hearing from schools across the country, including Hawaii, Cal-State Bakersfield, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Western Kentucky, Southern Miss. Eastern Kentucky, Iona, North Carolina Central, and Virginia Tech. Jones has an offer from Hawaii, CSU and Cal-State Bakersfield.
The Rams are a school that is sticking out to him to this point, thanks to the recruitment of assistant Ross Hodge.
"Colorado State, they've been doing a good job staying in contact with me and building a relationship, just things like that. I speak to them almost every day and they give me good words of encouragement, and I take what they give me and I use it. I'm definitely considering their school and they help me out. I think we have a good relationship going on.
"He says he likes the way I play off the bounce. I can handle it and I can really break a defender down. I can create my own shot no matter where I'm at the floor; I have range. I can really score the basketball, but I'm not selfish with the ball. I know how to get my teammates involved, and that's what they told me that they liked. I've just got to put a few pounds on and I'll be OK," Jones explained.
Jones County J.C. went 28-5 en route to winning the National JC basketball title a year ago. Both Fludd and Jones will have three years to play two after the upcoming season.
CSU recruited Fludd out of high school, but he failed to qualify. The Rams have since continued to recruit Fludd, while Jones joined the picture after the Junior College All-American Game.
"What I'm looking for is just a program that's going to take me and make me an impact guy right away on the basketball team. I want to come in and be a major part of being on the floor. I want a coach that will believe in me to showcase what I can do to help a team win. I won a National Championship and before I won a National Championship, I won in high school. So I know how to win and I'm a winning guard. Whatever school I go to, I want them to embrace me and let me play my game," Jones said.
