Panola Signing Update

Add one more player to Panola College's Class of 2003 that's headed to the Division I ranks.
Zack Allison, a 6-4 forward from Louisiana, has committed to play at Southwest Texas, according to Ponies Head Coach Scott Monarch.

Allison joins several other Panola players who have already inked with Division I programs.
The most noted of that lot, 6-5 scorer deluxe Omar Thomas, signed with UTEP this spring. He recently completed a pair of summer school classes, and if he successfully completes two more, he will graduate and be eligible to play at UTEP in the fall/winter.
He will be a big shot in the arm for the Miners with his scoring and rebounding capabilities from the small forward slot.
Other Panola players headed to D-I schools this fall include:
*Gil Goodrich -- Lamar
*Marcus Lewis -- Alabama A&M
*Tremaine Hancock -- UT-Pan American
*Damien Smith -- Texas Southern
One other soph who is still looking for a school, swingman Johnny Miller, was thought to be headed to IUPUI at one time.
Monarch said he's not sure if that's the case right now, so he could be a late available for some school.
