Pasadenas Dawson Among Best in Golden State

It's not often that you see a player dominate the glass the way Pasadena City College's Mark Dawson did at times last season as a freshman for the Lancers.
JUCO Junction first caught Dawson in action last winter at the Riverside C.C. Holiday Basketball Tournament, where he treated us to a 20 point, 21 rebound performance in a loss.

As a result of that effort, we were looking forward to catching Dawson in action last week at the 2003 California JUCO Summer Showcase.
And while his teammates consistently failed to get Dawson the ball when he was in prime position to score, Dawson did enough good things to validate that he should wind up along the mid to potential high Division I recruiting spectrum.
A graceful athlete who can move well in all directions, Dawson has strong rebounding and shot blocking instincts. If he can become a little more assertive on the offensive end, he could put up monster numbers this winter as a sophomore at Pasadena.
Pasadena Head Coach George Terzian told JUCO Junction that San Jose State, New Mexico State, Fullerton State and Idaho are among the programs showing early interest in Dawson.
The biggest hurdle for Dawson could be graduation. From what Coach Terzian told us, Dawson will have his work cut out for him if he is to graduate by next summer. It's still a possibility, but there is little margin for error.
JUCO Junction will stay on top of the case, and we'll keep you abreast on any changes in Dawson's recruitment as the fall signing period approaches.
