Pasadenas Dawson to Start Taking Trips

Mark Dawson, a 6-8, 220 pound power forward from Pasadena City College in Pasadena, Calif., expects to take some official visits in the coming weeks.
Pasadena Asst. Coach Gamal Smalley told JUCO Junction that Dawson has been offered scholarships by Central Florida, Fullerton State and Idaho.

Others in the mix include New Mexico State, New Mexico and Southern Illinois.
Smalley said he expects Dawson to unofficially visit Fullerton before the end of the month, and then possibly take an official visit to Idaho in October.
Pasadena Head Coach George Terzian told JUCO Junction that Dawson has earned 26 hours in the classroom. Academics could be the key in determining whether Dawson ultimately winds up at the Division I level next fall.
"This is a test year for Mark," Terzian said. "He's in some tougher classes this year."
Dawson was one of the top big men at this past weekend's California JUCO Showcase. He's a mobile and bouncy big man that has an uncanny knack for rebounding the basketball.
In a game last year, JUCO Junction saw Dawson collect 20 rebounds. He's also an active defender who can deflect and block shots. His offensive game is still coming around, and Dawson is most comfortable inside of six feet.
We'll keep you posted on Dawson's recruitment as it evolves this fall. Stay tuned.
