Pearl River guard heads for the Rockies

Pearl River Community College guard Alton Robinson has made a verbal commitment to Colorado State for next season. Robinson chose the Rams over South Alabama and UAB.
"He told me he committed when he came back (from his visit)," said head coach Richard Mathis. "I asked him yesterday if this was a firm commitment and he told me it was."

The 6-foot-6, 200-pound forward is the No. 65 player in the nation in JucoJunction's rankings. Coach Mathis said his strength is his athleticism.
"He's probably more athletic than most 6-6 kids they get," Mathis said. "He's not a great shooter, but he's a very good athlete."
Mathis was on his visit to Fort Collins last weekend.
