Penn Valleys Freeman Big 12 Bound

Martane Freeman, a 6-5, 200 pound small forward/swingman from Penn Valley C.C. in Kansas City, Mo., has committed to Colorado.
JUCO Junction caught up with Freeman on Wednesday, and he confirmed that he will sign with the Buffaloes next month.

Earlier this month, JUCO Junction reported that Freeman took an official visit to Boulder the weekend of Oct. 11.
"I like how they want me to come in and play," Freeman said. "I also developed a good relationship with the players and program."
Freeman was recruited by a number of mid to high major programs, but the only schools he visited were Colorado and Jacksonville (Sept. 5-7).
Other programs that expressed interest included Creighton, Southern Illinois, Kansas State, Oklahoma and Clemson.
Freeman, who needs to continue to get stronger and stay on top of his academics at Penn Valley this year, expects to step in and play immediately next year at Colorado.
"I can get the ball off the board and push it up the floor," Freeman said. "I can shoot it, and they like my athleticism and how I can get up and down the floor."
According to an article in Wednesday's edition of the Rocky Mountian News, Freeman averaged 15.2 points, six rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.3 blocked shots for Penn Valley in 2002-2003.
