Pensacola FL Update

Richard Damus heads the list of available prospects this spring at Pensacola J.C. in Florida.
A 6-7 combo forward from Port St. Lucie, Fla., Damus visited Jacksonville last month. He's also receiving interest from Troy State, Nicholls State, Western Kentucky and Georgia Southern, Swanson said.

"Richard is trying to let the dust settle, especially with the demise of the 5/8 rule," Swanson added.
As for 6-8 power forward Damar Ruffin of Akron, Ohio, he's currently back in the Buckeye State. His academic status is uncertain, although he was getting Division I looks earlier this spring.
"Damar needs to retake some classes," Swanson said. "He could end up doing some correspondence work."
After attending Rick Ball's event in Oklahoma last month, 6-4 swingman Tim Jennings is still searching for the right fit.
Creighton and St. Louis showed some interest in Jennings, but opted to go in other directions.
"Tim is still available and he would like to play at a high level," Swanson said. "He could be a great defender at the major level, but his offensive game is still coming along."
Croatian big man Zoran Jelenic, a 6-7 power forward, is still being eyeballed by a number of Division II and some low Division I programs this spring, Swanson said. He's expected to graduate in the summer.
JUCO Junction will keep an eye on the Pirate sophs until they reach decisions this spring or summer. Stay tuned!
