Pensacola led by three prospects

Pensacola Junior College may not draw quite the headlines of some of the other programs in Florida, but the Pirates have a talented roster this season. Coach Paul Swanson thinks at least three of his players could end up at the D1 level.
"Tyler Cannon and Durrell Baker from Auburn, Alabama are both Division One players on some level," Swanson said. "I've also got Bradley Skipper, a 6-foot-7 youngster from Pace. He is a low D1 player, a forward, maybe a small forward."

Both Cannon and Baker attended Rick Ball's showcase in Illinois this summer and should begin to get some activity on the recruiting circuit soon. Swanson broke down the games of both players.
"Tyler is a lefty," Swanson said. "He's a shooter. He is becoming a better all-around ball handler, a better passer. He's really working on developing his own shot off the dribble."
"Baker is a three-four, probably a four," the coach continued. "He is 6-6, right-handed, about 19-foot range. He works hard, he's pretty good around the basket and he rebounds well. He is getting better all the time."
The most sure-fire D1 prospect from Pensacola in the class will not return for his sophomore season. 6-foot-2 guard Tyrone Evans, an Aurora, IL native, will not be back. Swanson said he did not know where Evans had landed, though Independence Community College had been rumored as a destination.
