Spartanburg Methodist College hosted the 8th Annual Pioneer-Swanny's Classic this past weekend on the SMC Campus. The Pioneers walked away with two wins to start the new season.
The Pioneers defeated 22 Feet Academy Postgrad 82-64 and Thomasville Prep 92-48.

The Pioneers will be tested tonight when Walters State Community College (TN) comes to town. The Pioneers will play this weekend in the USC Salkehatchie Classic.
The Pioneers will play Gulf Coast State College (FL) and Moravian Prep Academy in the classic.
Tre Smith transferred into SMC after signing with Charleston Southern University out of high school. Smith spent some time last season at Coffeyville Community College before returning to the Palmetto State.
Marquise Simuels, an undersized work horse in the paint, is a bit older than your usual freshman.
Simuels played at AC Flora High School in Columbia, SC.
