Plainsmen led by trio

Frank Phillips College plays in the WJCAC Conference in Western Texas with the likes of Howard, Midland, South Plains, Western Texas, Odessa, New Mexico Junior College and New Mexico Military. JucoJunction had a chance to see the Plainsmen play under new head coach Vu Phan. Phan took over the Borger, T.X. school after Chad Kline left the program. JucoJunction takes a closer at this trio in this article.
Isaiah Rusher returns to junior college after playing last season at nearby Trinity Valley Community College. Rusher, a power forward, averaged 5.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game last season for the Cardinals. Rusher started his college career at the University of New Mexico. "Isaiah is truly a physical talent on the floor," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.

Marlon Ford returns to FPC after averaging 11.5 points and 3.3 assists per game last season for the Plainsmen. Ford, a Mobile, A.L. native, prepped in high school with Sacramento Kings power forward DeMarcus Cousins. "Marlon really likes to play 94 feet and can really attack the basket quite easy," said Swanson.
Trevor Niles returns to play the wing position this season after averaging 9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game last season. Niles prepped at New Creations Prep in Richmond, I.N. before landing at FPC last fall. Niles, 6-foot-5, hails from Cincinnati, O.H.
Look for the Plainsmen to stay at the top of the rugged WJCAC this season and make sure not to sleep on this team. JucoJunction will follow the action from the WJCAC all season long right here on your source for junior college basketball recruiting.
