Polk Bucks Commitment Trend at Redlands

While three of his sophomore teammates orally committed to Division I programs today, 6-6 athlete deluxe Brandon Polk of Redlands C.C. in El Reno, Okla., is still pondering his future plans.
Redlands Head Coach Steve Eck told JUCO Junction that Polk has taken a pair of fall official visits -- one to Colorado (Sept. 5-7) and another to Butler (Sept. 19-21).

In addition to that pair, several other colleges have been in El Reno this fall to visit with Polk. Among the lot of schools also involved with Polk are St. Louis, Wichita State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Loyola (Chicago), New Mexico, Creighton and San Diego State.
"He's trying to decide if he wants to sign early or late," Eck said. "If he signs late, those schools hopefully will still be options for Brandon."
Polk averaged 11.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last winter for Redlands, shooting 69 percent from the floor and 66 percent from the foul line.
A very athletic forward, Polk gets quite a bit done around the basket in his sleek 6-6 frame. If he can continue honing his perimeter shot and ball handling skills, there's little doubt he could make the complete transition to the wing at the Division I level.
JUCO Junction will stay on top of Polk's recruitment until it reaches a conclusion. Stay tuned.
