Ponies express

East Texas - or better yet Region XIV - in the NJCAA basketball is no joke when it comes to playing basketball every year. JucoJunction was in Dallas, Tex over the weekend at the Dallas JUCO Blowout. Read more about some Ponies right here on your source for junior college hoops.
Isaac Mack had a solid freshman season for the Ponies of Panola College in Carthage, Tex. The guard from the Hoosier State averaged 12.7 points and 3 rebounds per game last season for the 18-13 squad. "Mack is a left-handed guard who loves to play at a uptempo style," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
The Ponies added a junior college transfer in Zieyik Estime over the summer from Jamestown Community College in Upstate New York. Estime averaged 15.5 points and 5 rebounds per game last season while shooting 37 percent from 3-point range. The Harlem, N.Y. native prepped at Rise Academy in Philadelphia, Penn.
Alonzo Murphy made a strong impression this past weekend on college coaches this past weekend with his play. "Murphy a freshman power forward from Pittsburgh can really back you down in the paint and keeps the ball up high everytime he touches," said Swanson.
Look for head coach Junsie Cotton and his Ponies to make some noise this season in Region XIV.
