Ratliffe leading Central Florida

The Central Florida Community College Patriots will be led this season by pre-season All-American Ricardo Ratliffe. JucoJunction had a chance to see Ratliffe and his fellow teammates this past weekend in Tallahassee,FL at the Southeastern Jamboree at Tallahassee Community College. We take a look at some of the Patriots sophomores in this article.
Ratliffe, (SO) 6-foot-9 (235) from Hampton, VA, averaged 26.5 ppg last season while shooting 65% (297-454) from the floor. Ratliffe added 11 rebounds for the 20-10 Patriots last year.

"Ricardo has a very high skill level and is really put together in every aspect of his game. He reminds me of having a Karl Malone type of game," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Clemson Head Coach Oliver Purnell and Alabama Head Coach Anthony Grant were front and center watching Ratliffe along with the University of Missouri. It looks like Ratliffe will wait for the spring time to make a decision.
Josh Proctor, (SO) 6-foot-8 (200) from Steelton, PA, is a slender power forward who likes to play faceup on the perimeter. Proctor averaged 11.2 ppg and 5.6 rebounds last season for the Patriots while shooting 51% (118-232) from the floor.
"Josh has a nice touch for a big man and he really prefers to play finesse and faceup," said Swanson.
Justin Cecil, (SO) 6-foot-8, has transferred in from University of North Florida. Cecil did not play last season after playing in 2007-2008 at University of North Florida where he averaged 6.9 ppg and 4.2 rebounds in 19 games while averaging 25 minutes a night.
"Justin likes to play faceup and he's a deceptive athlete who can create his own shot," said Swanson.
Rashon Tabb, (SO) 6-foot-1 (225), hails from Niagara Falls, NY. Tabb is an undersized shooting guard who averaged 11.6 ppg and 3.2 assists last season. Tabb connected on 37.8% (42-111) from three-point land for the Patriots.
JucoJunction will look to see the Patriots in December at the Florida Shootout. Stay here for complete recruiting news from the junior college basketball scene.
