Redlands has more than just Morrison

People hear Redlands College and this season, they will likely immediately think of Ty Morrison. That's fair. Morrison has been our top-rated juco recruit for some time and he is being courted by high-major programs such as Washington and Missouri. But Redlands has much more than Morrison.
"That's the good thing," said head coach Steve Eck. "Ty's gonna be expected to do a lot more, but I have five other sophomores that played."

All five of those players are getting Division One attention right now. Chris Brown, Vaidatos Volkus, Solomon Horse Chief, Stephen Musa and Gerrell Thomas all averaged between seven and ten points a game a season ago for Eck.
"He's just real crafty," said Eck of Brown, who twisted a knee in a recent jamboree, but will be full tilt for the season. "He's got a real good midrange game, nice shot from outside. This is his third year, he redshirted his first year. If I didn't have Sylvester Mayes last year, he'd have averaged 15 points or so."
Eck said Weber State has long been showing an interest in Brown, but other schools are getting involved. He did not want to go into a list of schools on each player, but suffice it to say Redlands will be a popular stop for recruiters this season.
"I just want to make sure I've got some depth and got some nice freshmen. I've got 14 players and I've got to find that separation some place," Eck said. "I've got to find the right guys out of my eight freshmen and make sure they improve."
Even without the freshmen, expect the half-dozen talented sophomores to have Redlands once again in the thick of things with the top teams in the nation.
