Redlands hopes to make a run

Redlands Community College in El Reno, OK is under the leadership of first year head coach Yaphett King. King played at Redlands under then head coach Steve Eck. King made the decision to come back to his junior college playing days and be the boss this season. JucoJunction caught up with the Cougars head coach today on some of his sophomores recruiting status.
Marvin Roberts (SO) signed in the fall with Cal State Fullerton. Roberts is 6-foot-5 (210) and hails from Brooklyn, NY.

Antoine Watson, (SO) 6-foot-4 (230) from Raleigh, NC, prepped at Laurinburg Institute and Milestone Prep both in North Carolina before coming to Redlands Community College as a freshman.
"Antoine is a power guard who has improved his shot this season. Antoine is built like a linebacker on the floor," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Iowa State-offered, TCU, South Florida, Missouri State-offered, Western Kentucky, Seton Hall and Oklahoma State-unofficial visit in the fall have all shown interest in Antoine this season.
"Antoine is a very physical guard," said coach King.
Hamilton Nash, (SO) 6-foot-7 (215) from Frankenmuth, MI, is a combo forward, more of a 4/3 man. Hamilton is a third-year player and has attended Lansing Community College (MI) and Palm Beach Community College before surfacing in El Reno this past fall.
"Hamilton is a very athletic player and he rebounds like a madman," said King.
Arkansas State, Stephen F. Austin and Valpo have shown interest in Nash this season according to coach King.
Vincent Talbott, (SO) 6-foot-2 (180) from Los Angeles, CA, played his freshman season at Lon Morris College. Vincent a shooting guard played in high school at Laurinburg Institute and Milestone Prep with teammate Antoine Watson. Talbott is wide open in the recruiting process according to coach King.
Antonio Cooper, (SO) 6-foot-10 (235), is redshirting this season for Redlands. Cooper hails from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Jeremy McCarthy (SO) is no longer with the team but remains in school at Redlands. McCarthy hails from Houston,TX. Jeremy was at Cowley College (KS) last season and Blinn College in the past.
The Cougars will look to improve on there (9-8) season today when they play Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Region 2 action.
