"Ja'Mill Powell has committed to Eastern Kentucky University" said Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Head Coach Dustin Grover.
Powell helped the Golden Norse to a 22-11 and a berth in the NJCAA National Tourney this past March in Hutchinson, KS.

Powell, a Bridgeport, CT native averaged 15.2 ppg and 4.6 rebounds this season for the Golden Norse. Powell visited EKU this past week and walked away with a scholarship offer.
Powell will join forces with Jonathan Hood at EKU next season. The duo played
together at Body of Christian Christian Academy in Durham, NC under head coach Darryl Harris. Hood played this past season at Santa Fe State College in Gainesville, FL.
Derrick Frye, a teammate of Powell at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, has signed with NCAA D2 school Southern Arkansas University for next season.
Frye, a Atlanta, GA nativde will have two years to play.
